who the hell am I?

Hey lovely, I’m Roxy.

happy wife, multiple business owner, psychotherapist, travel lover, chocoholic, course junkie, girl geek, sports superfan, book binger, wine worshipper.

oh – and mum!

Feel like you’re stuck on a washing machine cycle of guilt and pressure?

Trying to balance your business, or finding time to create and build it, while doing your absolute best to raise a family?

I’ve SO been in your shoes.

My passion is encouraging, supporting and empowering
busy business mums – just like you.

Back in my corporate career days, I was known as the girl who would ‘get stuff done’. I thrived on late nights, short deadlines and high pressure,
surrounded by trailblazing women who talked fast, aimed high and taught me valuable life lessons…

That you can be confident and kind… Glamorous and giving… Career-driven and caring.

And then I became a mum!

Yowch was that a game changer?! It blew everything I knew out of the water.
However, another child on, I realised it was time to put into practice all the things I’d learned – and time to teach them to you.

That’s why I created Busy Business Mum.

Whether you want to make a difference doing what you love, create a giant empire, or have a comfortable life while keeping some other humans alive,
Busy Business Mum will help you get there.

It’s time to forget who the world thinks you should be…
and start being who you want to be.

I’m an award-winning therapist, women’s rights advocate, mum on a mission and Cadbury chocolate addict

I’m an entrepreneur and fully qualified therapist with professional qualifications in clinical hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, NLP, coaching, nutritional therapy and stress management (and a whole heap more). Quite a mouthful right!

Let me give you the back story.

Before building my own business, I had a past life as a corporate sales lady in a very well-known confectionery company (and I got free chocolate!)   I worked in law, media and retail before I became disheartened with the ethics and attitudes.  I then moved into a successful career in the care and medical industry where I worked in hospitals, nursing homes and in the community.

It was tough… but I loved it.

I became aware of the fact that many patients and relatives were unable to access supportive mental health services that they required within a reasonable time frame. This – and the birth of my first son, Charley, in 2014 – inspired me to create Mind Matters Therapies Ltd, an award-winning private practice, helping clients to overcome mental, physical and emotional issues.

Leaving my career behind, embarking on a journey as an entrepreneur and building a business around my family was both exciting and terrifying! There were glorious highs and emotional lows. I gained so much, but I also had to let go of a great deal… my idea of who I was and my idea of who I ‘should’ be.

My second son, Finn, arrived in February 2017, and with him came the birth of my second business: The High Heels Society!

I loved this business. It perfectly married my “let’s crack on” attitude and allowed me to keep my toes into a corporate field that I thought I wasn’t ready to leave behind.

Somewhere in the midst of this idea I had a humongous realisation that I’m now so far away from a corporate professional woman I can’t explain. It didn’t fit anymore. I didn’t like it anymore. But I absolutely KNEW I wanted to work with business women, and then the proverbial thunderbolt hit me. I actually wanted to work with business mums. I understand you, you see! I get the mental load we carry that even the most wonderful of men like my husband definitely don’t have.

I’ve never looked back. I wear what I like and say what I feel needs to be said. I adore my clients and have a lovely, crazily busy life. I absolutely LOVE working for myself.

Busy Business Mum has an inspiring community of women where rules are broken, traditional role-models are challenged, and lives are changed. A place where you can be exactly who you want to be, learn to leave the guilt at the door and rock being a mum without losing your identity.

I can’t wait to meet you!
